What is GEOS?
GEOS used to be an acronym for Graphical Environment Operating
System, back when Berkeley Softworks made Commodore GEOS for the
Commodore 64 and 128. Then Berkeley Softworks changed its name to
Geoworks and developed
PC/GEOS for Intel-compatible personal computers. GEOS was then used
on small hand-held devices such as the Tandy Z-PDA and Nokia 9000
Communicator. Then GEOS was being maintained by NewDeal, as part of their NewDeal
Office suite.
