Developer Training Classes

Alameda, CA (August 6, 1997) - Continuing to create new opportunities for developers, Geoworks (NASDAQ: GWRX), a leading provider of smart phone software solutions, today announced that Zsigo Wireless Data Consultants will now be offering training classes for developers. Under the arrangement, Zsigo will offer Geoworks operating system training classes in North America, which will teach developers how to use the Geoworks Software Development Kit and how to program applications for smart phones, such as the Nokia 9000 Communicator. The initial class will be taught in Alameda, CA on August 19 and 20, 1997.

"We are pleased to work closely with Zsigo Wireless Data Consultants because of their outstanding past achievements in providing wireless industry training opportunities," said Cheryl Burnell, Geoworks' manager of developer services. "Their expertise will provide a comprehensive level of understanding about the Geoworks OS, which will enable developers to create applications solutions for the emerging smart phone market."

The Geoworks operating platform enables mobile communications devices, such as smart phones, to integrate voice, paging, email, fax, Internet access and other applications. The operating system is specially designed to minimize the amount of RAM and ROM necessary to run applications efficiently on mobile devices.

The Nokia 9000 Communicator, which integrates the Geoworks' GEOS(r) operating system, is the world's first all-in-one communications device that combines wireless voice and data services with personal organizer functionality. The GSM version of the Nokia 9000 Communicator was launched at the CeBIT '96 exhibition and is now available in more than 30 countries. It has won numerous awards for excellence and product design, including the 1997 GSM World Award for Innovation, CeBIT '96 Best of Show, the 1996 Mobility Award (Best Product), and the 1996 Top Mobile & Wireless Devices award for top product. Nokia plans to introduce the American version of the Nokia 9000 Communicator later this year.

"Zsigo Wireless Data Consultants offers a wide range of strategic wireless consulting services, so we are pleased that we will be able to utilize this expertise to teach Geoworks programming to the growing number of developers interested in taking advantage of this emerging market," said Konstantin Zsigo, President of Zsigo Wireless Data Consultants.
